SWEETS

Kataifi is a pan sweet or otherwise a syrupy sweet made from a special, fibrous, crushed dough, which is produced from wheat and water usually, and contains nuts (almonds, hazelnuts, peanuts) and honey that give it a crunchy and particularly sweet taste.

Lokoum is a traditional sweet served in small cube-shaped pieces. It often contains almond, while it is available in various flavors, the most common of which are rose (red Turkish delight), bergamot (green Turkish delight) and mastiha (yellow Turkish delight).

Baklava is a sweet made with puff pastry and contains a filling of nuts, usually hazelnut, peanut or walnut, and gets its sweet taste from sugar or honey syrup. It is usually served after the meal and is accompanied by coffee.
